Programme Structure

Food Safety is a major global concern amongst consumers. Globally, Governments and other stakeholders are intensifying efforts to improve Food Security, Food Safety and Quality. FSSAI -Food Safety and Standards Authority of India under the Ministry of Health has put in place the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006, Rules and Regulations 2011 for not only Food Products but for Production processes including petty Food Business Operators. CII, for more than 10 years, has been advocating 'Food Safety and Quality for All' through Capacity Building and Shared Responsibility among all Stakeholders to eventually make India a Safe Food Destination.

Continuing the efforts to sensitize Indian population, a mass scale drive, like the “Surakshit Khadya Abhiyan” is proposed as one of the Missions to be championed under the umbrella of a much larger mission “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” launched by the Honb'le Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi.
